The long-awaited return of the Sea Eagles star ended when he sustained a shoulder injury in the 42-24 thrashing dished out by the Titans at Brookvale Oval.

Tom Trbojevic sustained a shoulder injury in his long-awaited NRL return, as Manly went down to Gold Coast in a crushing 42-24 defeat at Brookvale Oval.Tom Trbojevic was playing his first match since June after returning from a hamstring injuryThe Titans won their fourth straight match to be placed ninth on the ladder

Manly officials were initially hopeful the injury was only a stinger, but it comes at the worst possible time for Trbojevic. His presence in attack helped Manly score one try as he drew in two defenders off the ball, while he also helped chase down Titans flyer Treymain Spry Sprei to deny him a 90-metre intercept try.

The Titans have now won four straight matches for the first time since 2014. They are ninth on the ladder after being tipped by a number of commentators to collect the wooden spoon.

Please, no more euphemisms. My mother diedMy mother hasn’t passed, or passed on, or gone to a better place. She is not lost; we know exactly where she is. Under a camellia bush. Having lost my father only 5 weeks ago, these sort of conversations and messages of condolence have been had often. I think the phrases which hit me the hardest were “he’s in a better place” and “well he had a good innings”. Sorry, his innings was cut short and he should be here. I'm sorry I read this article. What a loss of time. Too right, she doesn't exist at all.

Please, no more euphemisms. My mother diedInstead of 'I'm sorry for your loss', can't we just tell it like it is? GoodWeekendMag I actually didn’t mind ‘sorry for your loss’ from strangers and acquaintances when my mother died last year. It was something they could say without any awkwardness on both sides. I’d rather that than when people say too much JustSaying GoodWeekendMag So pleased to read this. My dead (not late - she was a very punctual woman!) mother and I agree with every word. GoodWeekendMag In the raw state of grief we tend to live with emotions all over the shop, truth is it's unlikely any words will be appreciated. We just wish the person was alive and present.
