Michael Keating died after a truck hit him as he was riding along Woodward Road in the Bendigo suburb of Golden Gully after midday on Friday.
"Michael was only 18 years old with the world at his feet," his devastated family said in a statement.The young man had been working at the family transport business managing the warehouses and was on his way to get lunch when he died. "He had an ability to back the B-Doubles around the yard that not many 'kids' have, along with organising loads, he was well on his way to lead the business in years to come."
The teen was a keen hockey player Eaglehawk Hockey Club and was passionate about building and racing HPV trikes.
