The Victorian border with New South Wales will be closed from Tuesday night following talks between Premiers Daniel Andrews and Gladys Berejiklian and Prime Minister Scott Morrison, the ABC understands.
The decision follows a weekend that saw Victoria record 108 new cases on Saturday — the second highest increase in the state in a single day since the pandemic began — and lock down nine public housing estates in inner Melbourne

About time. The rest of the Country worked this out months ago. Everyone needs to stay where they are so we can isolate this thing. While the outbreak is in one location, all states are helping provide resources to get on top of it faster. When it’s everywhere we can’t do that

I have children at Flemington P.S. Myself and other parents are concerned about our children going to school next term. Children have tested positive and student to student transmission is occurring. Schools are not safe yet. We are worried we need remotelearning

Idiotic - we live on the border - no cases here in 3 months, but people can travel from Sydney to Albury or from Melbourne to Wodonga. ? This makes no sense.
Why give everyone time to leave?. If the border needs to be shut it should be done immediately!
