The A-League's horror week finally ended when the three Melbourne clubs landed in Sydney on Saturday morning to begin a 14-day quarantine period after gaining exemptions to travel into NSW.

That means the grand final will now most likely take place on the last weekend of August rather than on August 23, as was originally programmed when the revamped fixture list was announced earlier this month.

Western has six games remaining, Victory five and City, who are second on the table, have just three. O'Rourke met with the players and club officials after they landed and were taken to a hotel where all three will stay together for the next fortnight.
