The Vatican protests to Italy over a draft law to combat homophobia, saying that in its present form it could restrict the religious freedom of the Catholic Church in Italy.

The Vatican has protested to Italy over a draft law to combat homophobia, saying that in its present form it could restrict the religious freedom of the Catholic Church in Italy. The protest is over the so-called Zan bill, named for Alessandro Zan, a gay legislator of the centre-left Democratic Party

The protest, which was first reported by the Corriere della Sera on Tuesday and confirmed by a Vatican official, was delivered on June 17 by the Vatican foreign minister to Italy's embassy to the Holy See. The Vatican fears that the law as written could lead to criminalisation of the church in Italy for refusing to conduct gay marriages, for opposing adoption by homosexual couples through Catholic institutions, or for refusing to teach gender theory in Catholic schools, according to a Vatican source.

Religion is a failure of logic and compassion ! Their right to hate and discriminate must be ended ! Just as their centuries old tradition of child abuse must stop ! Their choice to embrace ignorance should not come with legal protection !!

Yup. They say it goes against an ancient agreement which was scrapped once before... then reinstated... time to scrap it again! The times, they are a changing

Religions should be abandoned and consigned to history not given any freedom to ruin lives and abuse women and children.

Mandatory collection of DNA at Birth, Fingerprints upon entering workforce, facial recognition on all CCTV, QR check-in at every business and RFID chipped at birth. Yes it could solve a lot of crime
