‘People just ruining it for others sadly.’ 7NEWS

The issue recently came to light when a supermarket shopper took to Facebook to complain that she was unable to pick up a raincheck at her local Woolies.

“Since when do supermarkets NOT give out rainchecks?” the customer wrote on the Markdown Addicts Australia page. The post prompted hundreds of reactions, with many frustrated by the development. “I asked for a raincheck at woolies and they said they stopped doing during COVID. So annoying,” said one. Added another: “I know it sucks with Woolworths. However Coles still do them. I got a raincheck today for muesli bars.”One more wrote: “Also if you buy something at Woolies [and] take it back, no refunds either - only exchange I found out last week. Coles still do refunds and rainchecks so forget about shopping at Woolies now for me.”“Woolworths manager told me they stopped it during COVID due to people misusing rainchecks by going to multiple stories and doing them.
