The United Nations is warning hotter temperatures will influence extreme weather conditions this year and into the future

The past decade has been the hottest on record, the UN said Wednesday, warning that the higher temperatures were expected to fuel numerous extreme weather events in 2020 and beyond.

"Unfortunately, we expect to see much extreme weather throughout 2020 and the coming decades, fuelled by record levels of heat-trapping greenhouse gases in the atmosphere," he said. The UN agency said that average global temperatures during both the past five-year and 10-year periods were the highest ever recorded.

Current pledges to cut emissions put Earth on a path of several degrees warming by the end of the century.Mr Taalas on Wednesday said that since modern records began in 1850, the average global temperature had risen by around 1.1 degrees Celsius, and warned of significant warming in the future.

Is the United Nations into forecasting the weather these days ?

Fake news.

The UN are lying.

Quick! Send money to the UN! We must appease the gods.

Is this going to happen next year also? Will the PM be adapting his budget to make an allowance of millions so we can continue to react to these fires rather than prevent them? How many more fires will we have until the results from royal commission? How many more animals lost?

Remember when the UN told us in 1989 that the Maldives would be under water by 2018, because of rising sea levels? Didn't happen. The prophets of doom at it again. ClimateCrisis

Well they would say that, wouldn’t they

thanks UN for your invaluable input

Pure genius. This has been another announcement from the ministry of stateing the bleeding obvious

“ Since records began in 1850 “ Why delete old heat records that don’t fit the narrative ? Example .53.1 Cloncurry QLD 1889 , hottest recorded , gone .

Why wouldn't they? The man-made climate change narrative is directly linked to their insidious Agenda2030. The plan to remove your from your land, remove your private property and re-home you in large 'stack n pack' mega-cities where you'll be monitored and surveilled 24/7.

They’ve been saying that sort of thing for years and nothing has ... hang on, the storm just caused a blackout, at least I can see by the light of the local bushfire

There are only 10 years left to save the world's biodiversity from mass extinction, UN warnsMore dedicated protected areas and a 50 per cent reduction in pollution by the end of the next decade is needed to save the world's natural world from mass extinction, the UN's Convention on Biological Diversity has warned. ‘Warned’ Apparently using images of polar bears and/or ice makes climate change seem more irrelevant to people. Images and language needs to be something more tangible and relatable. Smells like Agenda2030. If you haven't heard, it's the plan to kick you all off your land, resettle you in large 'mega-cities' where you'll live in a toilet-sized dwelling, with zero private property and all the while, monitored and surveilled 24/7. Sound like fun?

More smoke predicted for Australian Open qualifying as racing gets called offPlayers at Australian Open qualifying are still expected to battle poor air quality at Melbourne Park, as Racing Victoria cancel races at two courses due to conditions 'unsuitable for racing'. Cancel it as if it wasn’t obvious to do so. Officials couldn’t give a stuff about anything but money. I find this very amusing. All that money lost. Whatever will our politicians do? Australias had it coming for a while.
