A City Council is pocketing hundreds of thousands of dollars each year in parking fines from just two inner-city streets, with some calling their actions criminal. 9News

One side of the street is clearly marked, the other seemingly nothing.

Technically, there is a two-hour limit area but the sign confirming that is hundreds of metres away at the other end of the street. Combined, two streets generated $248,667 last financial year which equates to just under $5,000 a week in parking fines. "That's what we want, we want those signs to be easy to understand," Mr Schinner says.Residents say they haven't heard from Council regarding the signs as yet.

This isn't a new issue, the former Lord Mayor, Graham Quirk, once claimed more street signs would be expensive and cause "signage pollution".

'Two mavericks, both reviled and derided by the media' | Sky News AustraliaLegal hurdles threaten British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and US President Donald Trump, as “their opponents rail against the will of the people”, says Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\nMr Kenny’s comments come after the UK Supreme Court found Boris Johnson’s suspension of parliament 'unlawful', and US House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announcing she is moving forward with a formal impeachment inquiry on Trump. \n\n“The latest moves against Donald Trump and Boris Johnson just confirm the argument I've made for years, and that is that the so-called elites of the media\u002Fpolitical class have no respect for mainstream voters and democratic outcomes,” Mr Kenny said, before shifting his gaze to the British Isles. \n\n“The people of Britain voted for Brexit, Boris Johnson is trying to deliver it and the political establishment doggedly continues to try to thwart him - and now this Remainer resistance has been supported in a controversial ruling by the legal institution of the Supreme Court, forcing a resumption of Parliament'. \n\n“Two men known as mavericks, both with trademark shocks of hair, both with mandates to implement, both opposed every step of the way by the political establishment, both reviled and derided by much of the media and both self-styled champions of the people.\n\n“Who knows how, when or where their next obstacles will emerge.”\n BorisJohnson realDonaldTrump This is pretty much just as disingenuous as the comparisons made between the two by leftist commentary. China has a 'two-track economy' | Sky News AustraliaThe Prime Minister has argued that China is no longer a developing nation, but the Australian Strategic Policy Institute’s Michael Shoebridge says the Asian powerhouse now has a “two-track economy”.\n\n“It’s like that Dickens book ‘A Tale of Two Cities’,” Mr Shoebridge told Sky News host David Speers. \n\nWhile regional communities in China remain incredibly poor, “there’s a highly-developed Chinese economy with high technology and hundreds of millions of people living at middle class standards, comparable to Australia.”\n\n“From an international trade point of view, the part of the Chinese economy that matters is the developed part of that economy.”\n\nAlthough China may seem to have come into its own in recent years, Mr Shoebridge reminded viewers that China hasn’t “done this on its own” - and should still be a nation to watch.\n\n“It’s been lifted by its engagement with other world economies – Australia, the US, the EU,” he said. \n\n“As a communist authoritarian state, it has chosen to use its newfound wealth very strangely, and that is to grow the military, economy, political, cyber, and intelligence power and to use those assertively against its own people and other countries.” \n\nImage: Getty\n You can’t be almost the biggest economy in the world and be “developing “ 🤣 so let me get this straight.. Morrison's US trip had to navigate between two extremesIt remains to be seen whether Mr Morrison has got the balance right in navigating between the US and China and perhaps he needs to expend more energy on ties with Beijing. Since when Australia started to bend over to CCP for trade? Australia should not turn a blind eye on what CCP has been doing on Xinjiang Uyghur and HongKong people. (👇Watch the video)
