An eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy test positive for coronavirus in quarantine in the Northern Territory after returning on a Commonwealth repatriation flight from India.

Two new coronavirus cases have been recorded in the Northern Territory's Howard Springs quarantine facility related to travellers returning on Commonwealth repatriation flights.They will remain in specialist care at the Howard Springs facility near DarwinAn eight-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy who arrived in Darwin on a flight from New Delhi on November 24 tested positive and remain in quarantine at Howard Springs.

More than 1,300 international travellers have undertaken mandatory quarantine at the Howard Springs facility since repatriation flights began on October 23.The total number of cases reported in the NT is now 62.All cases are linked to international or interstate travel, and there has been no community transmission in the NT.

Last week the Northern Territory recorded its single-largest daily rise in coronavirus cases — with six new diagnoses from people returning from India on a repatriation flight.
