Exclusive: TV doctor and Chemist Warehouse scion warned for prescribing drugs to herself

Chemist Warehouse co-founder Sam Gance and his TV doctor daughter Elana Gance both wrongly gained access to restricted prescription drugs from one of the chain's Melbourne pharmacies, documents show.

It has made its founding families, the Gances and Verrocchis, extremely wealthy: Sam Gance's brother, Jack, is worth more than $1 billion, according to one recent estimate.said doctors must not prescribe themselves drugs listed under the Drugs, Poisons and Controlled Substances Regulations. The board said it had particular concerns with her self-prescribing medicine that is considered a drug of dependence.

is hosted by former footballer Luke Darcy and comedian Jo Stanley and appears at noon on Sunday. Dr Gance is a regular guest. It noted he had admitted taking the medication from the Chemist Warehouse pharmacy, where he was neither an employee nor had a proprietary interest.
