Another day ... another fire at an SKM Recycling facility (this one was minor) fire skm

Unlike a blaze in July 2017, which burnt for close to two weeks and sent plumes of toxic smoke across Melbourne, Metropolitan Fire Brigade crews needed only about an hour to make the facility safe.

Workers were on site when firefighters were called just after midnight. However an MFB spokesman said the fire was so small that it did not force an evacuation, and neither would it warrant an investigation. The fines were issued almost two months after the EPA audited the two factories in early January and found baled and loose stockpiles of waste that it deemed a serious fire hazard.

Think we can now call time on recycling. Countries won't accept our rubbish any more and we're too lazy to do it ourselves. Sad but true.

Hey boss....We are overstocked again. Ok. Set it on fire and it will give us some room for more. No worries.

Waste to energy. Burn it
