When Anthony Albanese sat down with Xi Jinping, business leaders celebrated the “tremendous reset” in Australia-China relations. Omar Bekali, who spent seven months in internment camps in Xinjiang, was far less excited | KnottMatthew

When Prime Minister Anthony Albanese sat down with Chinese President Xi Jinping last week, business leaders celebrated the “tremendous reset” in the Australia-China relationship.

The delegation’s members, who have been unable to secure a meeting with Foreign Minister Penny Wong, believe the Australian government has been too tentative in confronting Beijing over human rights violations they regard as genocide. Underlining the thaw in Australia-China relations, Defence Minister Richard Marles welcomed the likely resumption of annual bilateral defence talks after meeting his Chinese counterpart Wei Fenghe in Cambodia on Tuesday.

Each morning the inmates - held captive on the pretext they were potential terrorists - were forced to sing Communist Party anthems and wish President Xi a long life. “I came to Australia because I want to expose the truth about the regime’s atrocities and genocide and be a voice for the voiceless people,” she says. “I want the Australian government to help us save the Uyghur people.”

In a long-awaited report released in August the United Nations found China had committed “serious human rights violations” against Uyghur Muslims that could amount to crimes against humanity.

KnottMatthew Can't believe it that there are still people out there believing the CCP. I can assure you that Xitlers are celebrating another successful cheating, and coming back to slam the Albo government relentlessly, that could happen very soon.

KnottMatthew AlboMP wanted a reset all along because he thinks AustralianLabor understands the Chinese Communist Party, and they have been SO giving. But he will be haunted by the UyghurGenocide till the end of his days. auspol

KnottMatthew According to some shameless media reports, it is cultural genocide for women in Xinjiang not to wear headscarves, it is imprisoned and oppressed for women in Iran to wear headscarves, and it is a cultural tradition for women in Saudi Arabia to wear headscarves. WTF?

KnottMatthew Is smh trying to sabotage the recent efforts to improve relationship with a major trading partner, pumping out one negative article after another?

KnottMatthew Probably the asylum seekers in Australia that were incarcerated for years aren’t that excited either but most rational people want a better relationship with our major trading partner.

KnottMatthew the SPIN master is doing his impression of a job well done

KnottMatthew Turning into the Murdochracy. Always the negative never can let something be positive. We see the Age editorial policy.

China issues startling ultimatum to AustraliaChina's state-run media has warned Australia's “dangerous” AUKUS deal will “stir up trouble” in an ultimatum issued just days after the two nations' leaders met for the first time in six years. Fk China and the CCP devils 🖕 So, China, a country that routinely flouts international law, invaded Tibet, runs concentration camps, ignores IP laws, and runs the most comprehensive surveillance state in the world, disapproves of what Australia is doing to protect itself from China. It must be a good idea. EAD China!
