Top police officer loses bid to keep strip-search report from inquest record | angusgthompson

The NSW Police Commissioner has lost a bid to stop an academic report calling for law reform on strip searches from being added to the record of an inquest into music festival deaths after his lawyer said "it's not a roving royal commission".Michael Grewcock and Vicki Sentas

NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller has lost a bid to keep a university report recommending legal curbs on strip searches from being added to an inquest into drug deaths at music festivals. It also argues that the definition of a strip search should be clarified and the "deeply humiliating" practice of requiring a person to squat and cough or bend over while undergoing a search should be explicitly banned.

He said the report hadn't been peer reviewed nor published in an academic journal, and was "simply too remote, too tenuous" to the subject matter of the inquest.Mr Casselden told Deputy State Coroner Harriet Grahame there was "simply no foundation" to look at law reform and strip-search powers during the inquest, labelling it an "impermissible area of exploration".

Dr Dwyer said issues in relation to strip searching seemed to be "inextricably linked" to the frequent use of sniffer dogs at NSW festivals, leading to the "harmful consumption of illicit substances" among attendees.

The country's top bureaucrats say Government appears unprepared for climate changeThe most powerful bureaucrats in Australia have been war gaming to prepare the country for national-scale systemic climate risks. Cancelled due to non existent threat. There is no evidence of a risk from a rapid change in climate caused by human activities. All claims that there is were made based on fraudulent, manipulated or nonexistent data. Climate simulations even fail to track data that is recorded. Total Bullshit & the media outlets who peddle this are just as bad as the fanatical alarmists. I doubt a 1.5 degree rise in temperature would equate to third degree sunburn. Really desperate propaganda from a desperate religion which senses that people are starting to wake up Because it’s bullshit!!
