Celebrations started at dawn as overjoyed members of Australia's Iraqi diaspora danced in the streets after their national team's Arabian Gulf Cup victory.

Credit:Iraq brought home a sensational victory for its people after beating Oman in the final of the Arabian Gulf Cup.

Tears were shed, sweets shared, and beeps blared as one nation's flag flew high in Sydney's west after a football tournament victory floored community members in Australia. They danced, cried, and embraced each other after being declared the victors of the tournament — an achievement that extends beyond the football field.

Basim Alansari, an Iraqi community leader in Australia, was among those who celebrated on Friday morning before heading to work. He said the celebrations turned emotional for some. Around 25,000 people born in Iraq have settled in the Fairfield LGA — that's more than a quarter of all Iraqi-born people in Australia.

Iraq's hosting of the tournament also elevated the nation's status across the Middle East, with thousands travelling to Basra to attend matches while learning and engaging in Iraqi culture.

Australia must ‘grow less food’ to save the planetSky News host Andrew Bolt says Australia is being told to “grow less food” in order to save the planet due to concerns over livestock emissions. 'The Albanese government's Agriculture Minister Murray Watt yesterday warned farmers they've now got to get greener, they got to cut their emissions or they risk being locked out of trade with warming-obsessed Europe – and that’s just for a start,” he said. Bolt was told a decade or more ago about agenda 21/30 etc, but he dismissed it as conspiracy theory. 'Sky News host Andrew Bolt says Australia is being told to “grow less food” ' No one but you... said that. Protecting Rupert's fossil fuel interests is all Bolt is interested in. The Dutch were told to do the same. It's about time we say no to this madness. If the elite get their private jets then I get my steak. 🥩
