The top 10 best performing super funds this financial year were in the not-for-profit sector with the typical balanced option returning 6.9 per cent, despite a rollercoaster year for markets.

After a rough first half of the financial year, super funds almost matched their long term average return for the full year.UniSuper was the highest-returning balanced option over the year to June 30, with a return of 9.9 per cent, followed by QSuper and Media Super, which returned 9.7 per cent and 8.8 per cent, respectively, figures from SuperRatings show.

Domestic and international shares play the biggest roles in super funds' returns as the typical balanced option has about half the money in shares. Both UniSuper and QSuper are among the top-returning funds over 10 years to June 30, narrowly behind Australian Super, which remains at the top of the long-term leader board with an average annual return of 9.8 per cent.

Yes! Unisuper the top performer. Also a real pleasure to deal with.

Worth remembering that 'best performing' isn't always 'best'. Try and choose an ethical fund. There's little point reusing your plastic bag while your super is funding environmentally unsound practices elsewhere.

Best of luck to the injured person, may you recover ASAP. Also I hope you're getting as much pain relief as you think you require, not what they're offering you. Truly shocking. Oh that's so awful 😔

Fed Govt rejects request to fund Vic Govt's $600m cladding planThe Federal Government is refusing to contribute money to a $600 million cladding rectification fund announced by the Victorian Government today. How is this not an insurance issue or a legal claim against either the manufacturer of the cladding or the builders? Or is the State govt liable for its passing safety regulations? Yes if course they rejected it. No surprise at all!! Good, because that plan is a scam and taxpayers are not responsible for repairing the private property of other people who may not even be Australian citizens.

Georgina Downer alerted to hospital funding bid during election campaignFOI documents show Federal Liberal candidate Georgina Downer was alerted to confidential hospital funding bids by the SA Liberal Government in an apparent attempt to boost her election chances in the key Adelaide seat of Mayo. I am guessing it was a breach but at the end of the day no one seems to care or have the ability to do anything about it. It will just disappear into the ether like so many immoral and unethical things have in the past.🙈🙉🙊 Something else will come and take its place. ☹️ Under normal circumstances, giving confidential documents to a friend would be a reason to resign or be fired. But for this government, the standards have fallen so low that it's just normal course of operations. jjjove just another day in the LNP
