Having a mentor is ‘a secret weapon to access that helps you throughout your life,’ says mentorship coordinator Breeda Crowley.

Staring down a database with descriptions of potential mentors at Griffith University’s Industry Mentoring Program, Trista Nelson found one that sparked her curiosity.has more than 20 years of experience as a police officer ... worked as an investigator in the child protection unit ...Intrigued, Nelson clicked to requested that mentor.

“My mentor gave me more than that. I’ve gotten a confidence boost, I gained a lot of insider knowledge, and valuable networking and professional skills. “By the end of their degree, students know everything by graduation but become petrified by the next step. “Students get clarity to a career pathway they want to take while mentors gain leadership and coaching skills,” she said.
