An increasing number of Australian property developers are using feng shui to sell their projects — but how do they use it, and what does using it actually mean?

While the promotion of feng shui in Australia may appear to be a relatively recent phenomenon, its first appearance on the continent stretches right back to the 1850s.

"If you just look at the way it's actually designed … you know it's not just three sheds put together — it's a complex little building," Dr Groves said.

Sounds like a lot of panderin in Mandarin. I can't be sure of this so I must purify myself with healing crystals and check the tea leaves for a sign.

The entire notion is ridiculous. It is like homeopathy for architects.

Given the concerns about basic structural integrity in many large city buildings, perhaps there should be more focus on build quality, engineering and trade standards etc before we start getting too excited about Chinese pseudoscience.
