New research from the Australian Education Union shows four in 10 principals won’t have enough classrooms to meet student demand in the next three to five years. Two in 10 don’t have enough now. The findings are exacerbated by a 2017 commonwealth decision to scrap its recurrent capital works contribution to public schools, entrenching a large divide between public and private school infrastructure.
