Twenty-two patients with COVID are in hospital in Tasmania, eight of them specifically for COVID symptoms, as the state records 1,583 new cases of the virus.

Kathrine Morgan-Wicks said she was asymptomatic, but found out she had the virus when taking a PCR test, after a household member was confirmed as a positive case.

"I am currently well and will continue in my role as Secretary and State Health Commander, working in isolation from home," she said on Tuesday.from either the homepage or the settings menu in the app to continue getting the same national news but with a sprinkle of more relevant state stories.
