Sydney was one of 14 cities across the country taking part in a "national day of action" climate change rallies, with thousands taking to the streets to call for stronger climate policies.

Teen activist Izzy Raj-Seppings was among those protesting at the Climate Crisis National Day of Action in Sydney on Saturday."We can’t allow the anger and awareness about the bushfires to fizzle out at the end of summer, have people start accepting unprecedented bushfires as the new normal, or turn to cynicism and despair," the event's organisers wrote in the lead-up to the event.

But she said growing participation from union groups and organisations, and an ongoing planned series of rallies showed there was a "long-term movement" building."The bushfire and smoke has hammered home the reality of it ... What climate change is going to mean is that more intense weather events that we don't expect," Ms Dall said.

'I was told to abort my son. People need to see disability is OK'Witnesses at Australia's DRC_AU have implicitly described an experience common to many with cognitive disabilities - being treated as 'sub-human'. Attitudes need to change, they say. DisabilityRC DRC_AU It is inevitable in a public system that such questions will arise. As such births fall under the jurisdiction of public health. DRC_AU ABSOLUTELY.Our nation has supported an approach similar to the Nazi eugenics program- do they have a disability?Get rid of them. I do not downplay the seriousness and difficulty of caring for someone with disability. But these people deserve to be here, just as much as everyone. Disabled babies usually grow into disabled adults, with shorter & costlier lives. Most dual parenting find this so burdensome, that the original family unit breaks down. Family internal dynamics also suffer for an overall negative loss to some family persons. Disabled myself.
