Sydney’s hospitality king, Justin Hemmes, is on a mission. He says the city has experienced ‘death by a thousand cuts’ ... but he has a plan to bring it back to life.

“I love Sydney,” he says. “I’m only invested in Sydney. It’s my home and work, and it’s my life. I know how good it can be here; I have seen it.

I think the Olympics was a milestone moment for Sydney and put us on the map, and it made us one of the greatest cities in the world to visit. From then on it was amazing times, but then, unfortunately, we went down the wrong path.”

Maybe the locals you speak about can’t afford to do that because they’re battling to survive right now. Nice in theory but just not how it is. Same in every capital too.
