Executives at Sydney Trains have apologised for a “terrible' morning on the transport network, as afternoon peak hour commuters experienced another set of problems | Rabe9 jennynoise

Executives at Sydney Trains have apologised for a “terrible” morning on the transport network after a combination of problems caused massive delays across the city on Tuesday but expect the afternoon to run more smoothly.

While thousands of commuters were caught up in the delays, Sydney Trains chief executive Stewart Mills said the network would likely have recovered by the afternoon rush.Just before 5.30pm light rail services were shut between Central and Lilyfield in both directions due to "urgent power supply repairs" near Sydney Fish Market, according to Transport for NSW.

"All I can do is apologise to our customers and everyone out there, we had a pretty terrible morning,” he said. Transport for NSW chief operations officer Howard Collins said the delays in Sydney’s inner west were caused after a man collapsed on a train near Erskineville, with the train then diverting to Redfern to deal with the emergency and subsequently blocking services behind it.Mr Collins ruled out refunds on the Opal network to people caught up in the delays.

Rabe9 jennynoise which executives ? they spend most of the time apologizing 4 defects on sydney /nsw transport and never fixing it but with GladysB who used to be transport minister they dont have a clue - OVER BUDGET and commuters are OVER IT andrewconstance MySydney TransportforNSW

Rabe9 jennynoise When is the transport minister going to be replaced?

Rabe9 jennynoise Sydney trains should have a quarterly automated apology. It’s failures are so frequent. Btw what’s the salary of the head of sydney trains ? Too much !

Rabe9 jennynoise Every day is terrible service day with Sydney transports! The inner west LightRail is appalling

Rabe9 jennynoise Major failure has become a norm for ST, this wasn't a case when the company had the custodianship of it's assets and had enough staffs and budgets when it was RailCorp. Gladys as a minister and premier totally has wrecked the service.

Rabe9 jennynoise The only thing that the coalition governments work hard at is being treacherous & corrupt. They're 'terrible' at everything else. Why you all still voting for them, haven't you had enough of their busllshit?

Rabe9 jennynoise So glad I didn’t send my son on his first solo metro trip today.
