Sky News host Chris Kenny has taken aim at the Twitter “pile on” against Bettina Arndt following an onslaught of criticism over social media comments made regarding the horrific murder of a Queensland family last week.

Ms Arndt has been been under fire on social media for reaffirming controversial comments made by Queensland Police Inspector Mark Thompson after he said a Brisbane man who killed his wife and three children may have been "driven too far" following the breakdown of his marriage.

There have been subsequent calls for Ms Ardnt to be stripped of the Order of Australia Medal she recently received for her social commentary on gender equity through advocacy for men. Mr Kenny criticised Arndt’s comments but argued stripping her honour was going too far, saying Twitter users who have dished out “racial slurs and nasty attacks” in the past are now directing hypocritical remarks at conservative politicians and media personalities alike.

Deport all feminists.

Go and join Henderson on the bench of irrelevant fools.

Is there anyone more out of touch in National Commentary than Chris?

No, National Honours shouldn't be given to people who blame victims

Birds of a feather really do flock together don't they

You don’t get it do you? People were shocked and astounded when bettinaarndt got the award and, far from laying low, she’s going to a lot of trouble to confirm people’s initial reservations. Looks to me like she’s DARING them to withdraw the honour. Publicity

RWNJ believes in freedom of speech, but only for what he says.

She got the honour as part of a political grudge match, you galahs. It was an 'Up Yours' from the right.

Yassmin Abdel-Magied ... where were the 'freedom warriors' then ? Waiting ...

Yeah, Chris is right. We should be supporting frauds who justify family murder-suicides receiving national awards.

So Chris Kenny uses his tiny news platform to attack people for having a opinions different to him.

so glad i stopped watching your show and cancelled my Foxtel subscription. the platform you give people like this to make comments like that is appalling.

National honours should not be AWARDED as weapons in political grudge matches.

I think you mean the justifiable outrage against a woman who victim-blames, defends pedophiles and rapists.

am sure he will change his tune and start sooking if someone from the far left gets a gong

Chris Who? 🤣

She has mother issues and an agenda we are all paying far too much lip service too. SCOTT MORRISON was elected by the people as Prime Minister of our country, and chose to award her one of our highest honours. I know where my focus is aimed..

...except when it's Bettina Arndt.

It wouldn’t be a political grudge match if prestigious awards weren’t given to political commentators.

The Australian Senate has no business telling citizens what they may or may not say. As legislatures, as representatives of their respective states, they are a complete disgrace.

Kenny skulked out of Twitter because his version of free speech had consequences. Bettina can always go

Who gives a rat's arse what Kenny thinks?

What about the Senate pile on? 😂

The 'woke' lefts and the rights heap praise on Adam Goodes and he had a 13 yr old child publicly frogmarched out of a stadium. 'Nothing wrong with that though' Just another example of the growing hypocrisy fermenting in this country.

If I was Bettina I would return the OA and leave the country. I don't agree with what she said but she has the right to say it. We are fast becoming bullying thugs in this country. South of France looks good Bettina.

Oh boo hoo! She deserves more!!!

Can someone please explain which part of Betinas comments endorsed what happened?

Two words ... bolt report

Fido McDoggy

The whole situation around use of titles not actually legitimate plus giving apparent support for violent acts if someone is upset by family situations brings the Order of Australia into deep disrepute. That should be fixed.

Can it still be a twitter pile on if the Senate passed a motion condemning her comments? For someone who quit Twitter he seems to know what’s happening.

Mr Personal Responsibility can't cope, at all, when someone is held accountable for their own bad behaviour

An individual is awarded the recognition on behalf of the citizenry. If they do not meet the expectations of that group, then the judgement by the awarding committee should be revisited to test those concerns. Chris can have his opinion, but the wider views should prevail.

Yes with twitter we have a voice & commentators do their best poorleen 'I DON'T like it' perhaps skynews could read the room..bettina has not done anything positive for equality..all about MEN GETTING THEIR ROCKS OFF much like a prostitute . Do they get a gong

Sky News and its rightist mob siding with Arndt, not surprising.

Chris Kenny: defending the indefensible - how unusual

Does really think quoting Chris Kenny endlessly is a good idea? I guess it provokes a reaction...

Honestly if Chris Kenny and the other cruel minded sods who work at SkyNews think it's a lefty conspiracy to oust Bettina Arndt from this exclusive award they're one step beyond redemption. Arndt is an unqualified spokesperson for angry men like Chris Kenny, a pretentious quack.

Correction - over her horrific comment. Her comments were indefensible. This person dose not represent Australian values.

Brilliant love it. U nailed it Chris

More people reply to Chris’ comments than watch his shows. His audience is empty airport boarding lounges and comatose nursing home patients.

Well said Chris!

Chris Kenny just proves that this award was undeserved and rorted

Your reports from this guy should have a mandatory footnote: Chris Kenny is a complete and utter fcukwit and his opinions don't matter. But you do you, Sky News.

oy chris twitter isnt real life mate

I agree ChrisKenny “National honours should not be used as weapons in political grudge matches'. Should also not be awarded to those allowing themselves to benefit from being referred to by professional titles they have no right to, and who practices victim blaming.

If this travesty against thebettinaarndt gets up, it should be a trigger to review every Order of Australia awarded in the last 20 years. Start with the disgusting JaneCaro.

Is it real gold?

Has poor Kenny won Twitter yet? 😛🤪🤪🤪

ChrisKenny

“Shouldn’t” ....?

Poor hard done by Bettina can't even make excuses for burning children alive without copping criticism. Give her a safe space.

The woke womanhood working away to destroy.

National honours should not be given to frauds , Kenny and his repetitive dog whistling

Watching be like...

why do you think - by defending a person receiving an award who dismisses violence against women - that you are not signalling that Fox at the very least cares nothing about violence against women? what is fox’s view on violence against women exactly?

Bettina Arndt did nothing to deserve an Order of Australia, and should not have got one. Nominated by Sky/IPA Newscorp? Waved through by Morrison. Nasty person, passed herself off as Doctor, Clinical Psychologist but was neither. Take it off her now!

Hey adelaidecrowsne Adelaide_FC Adelaide Crows, You 1 ticket holder seems to be excusing sportsmen & fellow 'journalists' who incinerated their family. How the heck is that compatible with your ethos? Regards, All Indep., LNP, Greens and Labour Senators. bettinaarndt

Even his Liberals voted against her in the senate today

They couldn’t put her name and her views in the spotlight more, she will be the long term winner out of this femscreech pile-on.

Arndt was awarded the honour and it stays

Did we really expect any different? Chris Kenny is wearing the world's least desirable boots and Arndt is licking them clean.

And they shouldn't be handed out to people who want to promote abuse of AUTISTICS

Your expert Chris Kenny is always on point. This before the last Vic elections: 'Daniel Andrews is finished. Soft on crime. Paid a billion dollars not to build a tunnel. Siphoned taxpayers' money to get elected. A drovers dog could beat him.'

I agree, so why waste an award on a diabolical individual. What do you think ChrisKenny bettinaarndt

National honours shouldn’t be given to undeserving receipients as part of the govt’s undeclared - but very much active - culture war anyway.

Chris Kenny seems to have graduated from his dogfucker moniker onto ratfucking.

Bettina is correct in what she said, the sick feral pile-on and femscreech gives a very accurate indication of where the woke’s heads are at. Out of this all they’ve put Arndt’s name in lights.

If Chris was a cartoon character

Bettina has found a niche market consisting of failing miserable little men who seek someone to blame for their own inadequacy, she plays them all like a fiddle to line her own pockets.......

Some days I forget the joy I got in cancelling my foxtel and then I read a tweet like this and it all comes rushing back.

Watch out Kenny, you might be next.

Not just the twitter pile on. All the rotten politicians as well. They all should lose their entitlements

Man incinerates family Bettina suggests man 'driven' to incinerate family Twitter pile on man Twitter has 'words' with Bettina Chris Kenny cries for Bettina auspol

People being decorated for merit should in fact have some merit.

Course he has....couldn't bear to be with the people!

Kenny is another example of how putrid the Fox News of Australia is. This woman doesn’t deserve awards in the first place. She is a social commentator

BBC being 'out of touch' sounds 'terribly familiar' | Sky News AustraliaSky News host Chris Kenny says the issues plaguing the BBC, such as it being “out of touch with mainstream concerns,” mirror similar issues facing Australia’s ABC.\n\nThe public British broadcaster is facing a proposal to scrap the compulsory licence fee which has funded it for decades, and instead replace it with an “opt-in subscription model”.\n\nA survey conducted last week in the UK found more than half of the respondents agreed with the abolition of the licensing fee, while 50 per cent believed it did not represent value for money.\n\nMr Kenny said there are plenty accusations of the BBC “losing touch with the mainstream as it obsesses with minority activism,” like its recent feature of a poem about the ‘struggles of getting a haircut as a non-binary person’.\n\nThe same qualities which represent the main gripes with the BBC, such as focusing on “its own niche issues” and “lacking a diversity of ideas,” sound “terribly familiar” to the arguments against the ABC.\n\nImage: Getty\n yes puppets have same masters & it ain't the taxpayers macsween_prue Chris Kenny is out of touch with not just concerns but reality. Calls to strip Ardnt of honour ‘is a nasty pile on’ | Sky News AustraliaThe push to strip men’s rights activist Bettina Arndt of her Order of Australia over comments she made about murdered mother Hannah Clarke and her three children has devolved “into a nasty pile on,' says Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n\nMs Ardnt has been widely criticized after she “congratulated” Queensland Media for keeping an open mind about whether Rowan Baxter, who burnt his family to death, was “driven too far” by outside forces.\n\nMr Kenny said while Ms Arndt’s comments were unacceptable, it seems many want to “co-opt” this tragedy.\n\n“It seems there are a lot of people desperate to co-opt this horrible murder into their culture wars or their effort to defeat their political enemies,” he said.\n\nIt’s is pretty ugly seeing people use a tragedy like this to taint and smear their ideological opponents”.\n\n\nImage: News Corp Australia Hey Chris, seriously if your opinion mattered, you would be on the major networks.
