Thick smoke from a prescribed burn off has blanketed Sydney's famous skyline — the NSW Rural Fire Service says it could hang around for days and the NSW Government has issued a health warning.The haze is expected to life in some areas this afternoon, but may last"for days" in other areas
It has triggered an air quality alert, with the Office of Environment labelling Sydney's air quality as"poor" and warning people with health issues to stay indoors. It said the smoke would continue to be visible today in Sydney's south west, the Central Coast and Newcastle."These are important controlled burns which will reduce the risk to people and properties from bush fires," NSW RFS said in a statement.
