More than 100 Sydney bars, pubs, and clubs will stop serving alcoholic drinks, turn down the music and switch off the lights on Friday night to protest the NSW government's licensing conditions.

More than 100 Sydney bars, pubs, and clubs will stop serving alcoholic drinks, turn down the music and switch off the lights on Friday night to protest the NSW government's licensing conditions.

The government argues the rules are designed to keep patrons safe, however, five venues have successfully applied to have those rules relaxed. Labor has promised to strike-out the current measures if it wins government on Saturday. Red tape and regulation have shaped up to be a key issue as voters prepare to head to the polls.
