Sydneysiders planning to travel to regional New South Wales are being urged to reconsider their plans until the city's COVID19 outbreak is brought under control.

All residents of the Northern Beaches who have already travelled to regional NSW have been asked to self-isolate where they are."You can see the numbers today, what the health experts have done, the contact tracers and the leadership of Brad Hazzard and Kerry Chant, the Chief Medical Officer, is that we're on top of this," he said."More importantly, the message is for personal responsibility. If you're not feeling well, get checked before you travel to the regions.

Health workers wearing full PPE wait for people to arrive for testing at a drive through coronavirus COVID-19 testing site in New South Wales. When asked why the Shoalhaven and Illawarra areas had been included in the Greater Sydney restrictions announced yesterday, Dr Chant said it was to make sure NSW Health did not miss any undetected transmission in regions and areas outside of the Northern Beaches.

NSW has recorded 15 new locally acquired coronavirus cases in the last day, all linked to the cluster on Sydney's Northern Beaches, which now sits at 83.
