BREAKING: So close! Kyle Chalmers just misses out on becoming the first Aussie man to defend the 100m freestyle title. Still, what an effort. 👏🇦🇺 Details:

Australia has won another gold in the pool with Zac Stubblety-Cook storming home in the men's 200m breaststroke final. He was slow into the water and turned at the 50m mark way back in the pack and fell an entire body length behind at the halfway point of the race.

However, he timed it to perfection to race over the top of the Dutch champion to snatch his first ever Olympic medal. In his first interview out of the pool, Stubblety-Cook said: "It's unbelievable. I'm lost for words".Aussie legend Ian Thorpe was also blown away at the "incredible" final 50m Stubblety-Cook pulled off.

He explained the ice he has in his veins after the race when asked about his ability to execute his timings to perfection.
