'I was absolutely thrilled by the support we were given with a new timetable to allow for rest and stretch breaks in-between classes', said Year 11 student Kirra Johnston.

Catholic Ladies' College in Eltham has already adjusted bell times, workload and assessment schedules after students relayed the benefits they'd felt while learning remotely."The new bell times came out of girls needing time to get up and move and take a stretch break," Georgia Heffernan, one of the school's deputy principals, said.

The school's changes echo the recommendations of a recent student survey conducted by the Victorian Student Representative Council. Student involvement in decision-making was a top priority, as was making timetables more flexible with longer breaks between classes and shorter school days. A focus on mental health and wellbeing and making all students feel comfortable at school also made the list.

Who needs emotional resilience anyway! Generation weak!

Students vote for less work 🤔

Oh ffs 15 yo running the education system. That’s why this country is fkd

Cragoolia To everyone saying this is a bad thing because that's not what the working life is like have you ever had a coffee break at work? Also you get an hour lunch compared to 45 mins or less. It also could make students more punctual because most lessons start and end at the same time.

I would like to request a nap and a juice box too during work hours

what MORE lazy Australians learning to become Politicians

They'll have great careers working for PTV standing at train replacement bus stops.

Hope they also get plenty of quiet time and a safe space as well 🙄😂

always shoulda been.

Yeah look forward to those rests and stretches when you're in grown ups world....

The article doesn't go into much detail. In high school, I do remember a class ending at say 11:00am and then we were supposed to swap out our books and be on the other side of campus at 11:00am for our next class. A 5-10min lee way should have been logical anyway

Can’t wait to hire those go getters!

That’ll prepare them for the real world 🙄

Newborn triplets positive to COVID-19 despite parents not being infectedNewborn triplets infected with the coronavirus have confounded health authorities in Mexico as neither of their parents tested positive for COVID-19. Fucking hoax Is that those same 'tests' with a false-positive rate of 80%? Is that those same tests that can't even isolate the SARSCoV-2 viral strain? I'd be inclined to call horseshit. Scamdemic Plandemic Maybe because the tests are not for Covid 19 as there is no definitive test for this specific. We are being conned people
