Cairns residents warned to avoid exclusion zone after police make emergency declaration following reports of shot fired
Police responded to reports of a shot being fired and attended an address on Collin Avenue in Edge Hill shortly after 1pm on Thursday. Police have made an emergency declaration in response to a police incident in Cairns. Picture: Queensland Police Members of the public have been advised to avoid the areas of the 500m exclusion zone while police respond, or to stay inside with doors and windows locked.The state's Special Emergency Response Team arrived to assist an already heavy police presence on the ground locate the alleged gunman.
