The states are considering cancelling big events amid concerns over the spread of COVID-19.

Chief Medical Officers are considering the possibility of cancelling events in the weeks ahead if the virus gets worse. Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell revealed as the numbers of infection shifts from cases brought in from overseas to local transmission, the conversation is shifting within the major sporting bodies.

“There is talk about a phone hook up between the codes in the next few days just to discuss the issue,” he said. “NRL sources say they will do whatever the government tells us to do. Mr Clennell said a federal government source told him the protocol on mass gatherings will not change unless the health advice does. “The government is not there at the moment, but it is planning for all scenarios,” he said.

Guess the crowd at BankwestStadium tonight didn’t get your memo.

Does that include the mardi gras or is AID's virus ok .

All large gatherings should be stopped. No crowds, watch it on tv.

maybe they should cancel school, like literally every other country

What about the NRL games this week/weekend

They should still let the footy go ahead. Just close the stadiums to the public.
