Victorian families who lost a loved one in recent bushfires will receive $50,000 from the state government as part of a $5 million package of funds being released 'immediately' to those most affected

Victorian families who lost a loved one in recent bushfires will receive $50,000 from the state government as part of a $5 million package of funds being released 'immediately' to those most affected.

"We're moving as quickly as we can, we've got locals who sit on the independent panel to make sure we know where this money needs to go," she said. It's a “black and white” decision to support those who are literally without a roof over their heads, according to Pat McNamara, the chair of the Victorian Bushfire Appeal fund’s advisory board.

He said Australian Taxation Office regulations and the Charities Act had to be followed strictly when it came to donations, with charitable donations “for helping people in desperate need”, and holiday homes and businesses not covered in that category.Ms Neville said the first tract of money announced on Saturday would cover "very urgent and immediate needs" such as temporary accommodation.

"We're still very early in the season and continuing to see this fire activity where those fires exists, and new fires start all the time," she said.

Lucky there's no responsibility to 52nd billions of animal lives or the ecosystem. Imagine if they had rights to, you know, exist.

At least State & Fed Govt are giving out the money they promised- unlike these greedy Charities who are holding onto the money Aussies gave in good faith. Shame on you Vinnies & Red Cross but then RC has a history of doing this AND $12m for Admin? C’mon Age, raise hell over this!

Is it coming from PM or Vic Prem who endorsed Clint0n /charity who ripped $130Mill taxpayer$ off Aussies? Clint0n was in cahoots with Red Cross who ripped off Haiti as well & Red Cross Au looks just as dodgy pocketed $88million of donor $ for SELF?!

Instead of pledging to Australia or what not, VicLabor actually gets shit done again
