Police Commissioner Grant Stevens says teams will be able to train but not play matches against each other from midnight, while masks will be required in the state's high schools.

Sporting competition will still be banned but not training to limit the exposure of people from different parts of the communityPolice Commissioner Grant Stevens has also announced that high school students and teachers in South Australian schools will be required to wear masks when they return to classrooms tomorrow.

He said the new requirement would not apply to primary school students, but would be enforced in high schools unless it interfered with the education process. Mr Stevens announced the change in restrictions for schools and sport on ABC Radio Adelaide this morning, following a meeting yesterday afternoon."We think this is the right step at this point time, but we're really hopeful that over the next seven days that if we continue to keep on top of this Modbury outbreak and don't see any further seeping from New South Wales, we can keep moving in the right direction," Mr Stevens said.
