German gymnasts protest ‘sexualisation’ in the sport by wearing full-length unitards

On Friday, gymnasts Elisabeth Seitz, Kim Bui, Pauline Schaefer and Sarah Voss opened their Olympic performance wearing crimson and white unitards which extended to their ankles.

"To do splits and jumps, sometimes the leotards are not covering everything, sometimes they slip, and that's why we invented a new form of leotard so that everyone feels safe around competitions and training. "Every time you don't feel safe it's distracting you from what you want to perform. I think that feeling safe and not thinking about what other people can or cannot see is quite relieving when you compete like that.

More rot pushed upon us. Those uniforms look restrictive compared to the original gymnast attire…I don’t believe the original clothing had anything to do with sexualisation until some cancel culturalist said it did.

Those 'unitards' are extremely suggestive, have they looked in a mirror? My generation fought against having to cover up by wearing bikinis, this generation will have us back to being covered up to the neck and ankles. They'll regret it.

I always thought they wore those clothes as it was less restrictive and enabled them to move freely while competing. I'm no gymnast though so I guess I was wrong. Good for them, got to feel comfortable with yourself to perform.

Leotards enhance the female form IMHO.

They should wear what they are happy wearing, unless they are pandering to some religious rubbish.

Well it’s a sport, they don’t stand a chance so they try things different. Wonder if they will bother if they have a chance to get a medal.
