Enough already. An iconic Sydney shopping centre has put up a festive tree — and there are still 121 days to go until Christmas Day.

After some social media users pointed out it was a bit early, QVB said it was a “2020 Tree” and not its official Christmas tree.

“Following a challenging and extraordinary year so far, we collaborated with celebrated local artist, Gerwyn Davies, on a new large-scale art installation for the Queen Victoria Building in the form of ‘the 2020 Tree’ with the intention that it would bring a little joy to the Sydney community,” she said.

“We asked the artist to design ‘the 2020 Tree’ using the space and structure we have available to us, and this is Gerwyn’s interpretation of a tree symbolising hope and renewal.” “We know that 2020 has been a challenging year for our community, first with the tragic bushfires followed by the COVID-19 pandemic that continues to impact Australia and the world,” she said.
