America’s coronavirus lockdown ‘was destined to fail’ | Sky News AustraliaAcademics and scientists who were behind the America’s stringent lockdown procedures failed to consider the “collateral damage” the policy would wreak on middle- and lower-class families, according to the Lincoln Network cofounder Aaron Ginn. \n\nMany states across America have implemented lockdowns over the past seven weeks in order to delay the spread of COVID-19.\n\nDespite this, the death toll is nearing 100,000 in America with the Centre of Disease Control warning more people will die once restrictions are lifted.\n\nMr Ginn told Sky News while the disease is serious, many health bureaucrats failed to account for the social cost of shutting down large swathes of the economy.\n\nThe 32-year-old came to international prominence after an article he wrote for the website Medium, which questioned experts’ desire to ‘flatten the curve’, was removed online due to its ‘Controversial, Suspect and Extreme content\n\nHe told Sky News lockdowns “run counter” to free and fair society, which is why they were “destined to fail.”\n\n Dur …. surely no reasonable thinking person believes it is better everyone contract COVID-19. It is not the the Scientists and Academics who do not consider the low and middle class. It is the selfish, wealthy and arrogant, with hearts of stone. Who rather cling to stone cold hate, than change for the betterment of society!! They were keeping people alive first and foremost. The morally corrupt system that has no safety net is the reason people are suffering financially. Billionaires are making money as the majority starve. Address that issue.

Govt shoots down JobKeeper expansion | Sky News AustraliaThe government will not move to broaden the definition of JobKeeper despite the $60 billion saving, Sky News Chief Anchor Kieran Gilbert says. \n\nThe government on Friday revealed a costing error by Treasury meant the wage subsidy scheme was initially forecast $60 billion higher than was required. \n\nIt is now estimated the JobKeeper program will cost the government $70 billion and will cover about 3.5 million workers. \n\nMr Gilbert said senior government sources indicated the scheme would not be widened and they viewed the revised forecast as a good thing. \n\n“They see this as a positive, that the debt burden will be less.”\n\n Kieran_Gilbert The criticism is ridiculous here. When they announced Jobkeeper, it was a forecast. At that point we had no idea how badly Australia would be hit. Many didn’t require it and others hadn’t done their tax or work in the cash economy. Kieran_Gilbert Well done. The leftists don't understand the difference between genuine resources and debt and how to use them. A country could take debt for infrastructure that will pay itself back, that's an investment. Taking debt for Welfare 'dilutes' the country's wealth and creates poverty Kieran_Gilbert Good
