The declaration was made just after 12pm, about 90 minutes after police responded to reports of a disturbance at a property in inner Cairns suburb Bungalow. An exclusion zone was established by police with boundaries encompassing Little Spence Street, Buchan Street, Kidston Street and Hartley Street."People within the exclusion zone are urged to stay inside unless they have to leave the area, if so please make yourself known to police."

An exclusion zone was established in Cairns after an emergency declaration was called by police on Friday afternoon.Emergency services were called to a Collin Avenue address to reports of a shot being fired on Thursday following a collision between two vehicles at Edge Hill.Police investigations are ongoing into the incident with officers looking to speak with three people.

They are described as a man with fair skin, black hair and no facial hair, a woman in her 30s with tan skin and wearing a dark top or dress, and a man in his 30s with tan skin, curly black hair and wearing a white shirt.
