An emergency situation has been declared in Cairns in response to a police incident with residents urged to avoid an exclusion zone.Police have made an emergency declaration in Cairns under the Public Safety Preservation Act in response to a police incident.
The declaration was made just after 12pm, about 90 minutes after police responded to reports of a disturbance at a property in inner Cairns suburb Bungalow. An exclusion zone was established by police with boundaries encompassing Little Spence Street, Buchan Street, Kidston Street and Hartley Street."People within the exclusion zone are urged to stay inside unless they have to leave the area, if so please make yourself known to police."
