Heavy winds have brought down metal scaffolding at a Gosford construction site, injuring a woman walking past and damaging eight cars.

It comes as much of eastern NSW is hit with wild weather, with damaging winds forecast to batter the coast from Newcastle down to Bega.The aftermath of a scaffolding collapse on the NSW Central Coast. The winds are believed to have toppled scaffolding at the construction site for the Archibald development on Mann Street in Gosford on the NSW Central Coast.The metal framework crashed into a streetlamp and missed a ute driver by less than a metre.
