Sam Fisher knew this day was coming. The former St Kilda champion is in jail, and set to spend at least three years behind bars.
Sam Fisher jailed for drug trafficking. On Thursday, the judge handed the 41-year-old a maximum prison term of five years and four months after he pleaded guilty to six drug offences. He will be eligible for parole after three years but that is cold comfort for the former footballer. It’s a huge fall from grace after his heady years as an AFL star, playing in grand finals for the Saints and winning best-and-fairest awards. Fisher was obviously highly emotional as he stood in the County Court.
