Russia n officials have claimed the nation would hold drills to practice using tactical nuclear weapons , as the Kremlin steps up its"open confrontation" with the West.
The drills, which will include troops from the Southern Military District and naval forces, are a response to"provocative statements and threats by certain Western officials against the Russian Federation", it added, but declined to specify which officials or statements had triggered the reactionary measures., as it tries to force Western nations to cut off support for Ukraine and turn around its floundering invasion.

Reacting to Lord Cameron's comments, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov claimed giving Ukraine permission to hit targets in Russia risked escalating the conflict and dragging in other countries.
