Russian doctors have said gravely ill Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny could be flown to Germany to receive medical attention after the politician's allies accused the Russian authorities of deliberately trying to stop his evacuation.

Russian opposition figure Alexei Navalny fell ill during a flight on Thursday and has been in a coma sinceOn Friday evening they backed down after German doctors were given access to Mr Navalny

German doctors flew in to evacuate Mr Navalny, 44, at the request of his wife and supporters who said they feared authorities might try to cover up clues as to how he fell ill, and said the hospital treating him was badly equipped. A senior doctor at the hospital, Anatoly Kalinichenko, said the hospital could help transport Mr Navalny to the airport and that he would be moved within several hours.

The decision came after Mr Navalny's wife Yulia sent a letter to the Kremlin directly appealing for it to intervene and grant permission for him to be allowed to fly out.

tonykevin Something doesn’t make sense; why now? They’ve had ample opportunity, so why now? Hmm, not so sure about the narrative.

Now that they have had time to purge the toxins from his system. With any luck the doctors lied to the KGB / FSB and the German doctors find traces.

Race to save life of fierce Kremlin critic Alexei Navalny after suspected poisoningAlexei Navalny is battling for his life in a Siberian hospital after a suspected poisoning as Germany prepares to dispatch an air ambulance to bring him to Europe for treatment. Obviously he was poisoned because someone out there doesn't want him to win the election. Outrageous that SBS publish this tale without a blush, when the cause of his illness has not been diagnosed. Putin dunnit again no doubt. Utterly shameless 'reporting'. Silencing critics by poison is the MO. Blatant.
