Russia accuses Australia of falling for Western ‘propaganda’

Russia says it is ready for “serious conversations” about the United States’ proposals to defuse the tensions, which reportedly includes an invitation for Moscow to inspect US missile bases in Europe. The US and NATO this week formally rejected Moscow’s demand that Ukraine is never allowed to join the transatlantic alliance.

This is a reverse Cuba situation. Kyiv is only 800km from Moscow, & border is only 500km. I don’t blame Moscow for being extremely concerned. There could be NATO missiles moved to within 10min flight time of Moscow. Ukraine should be left neutral territory. Non NATO, non Russian
