Sky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says royal commissions seem “part of the federal landscape now” after Prime Minister Anthony Albanese called a Royal Commission into the Robodebt scheme.

“None of these various royal commissions that have been held have been without use or merit,” he said.

“But there is no doubt that some of it is about political square-ups and covering politicians’ actions.”

Are we really getting any value for money with politicians these days …. I think not. It’s all about scandal blaming.

We need a royal commission into albo and what he actually does. His job seems to be talking sht as always

Now? The first federal royal commission was in 1902.

Albanese didn't call for a RC into the Murdoch shit media but he bloody well should

I wonder how many Royal Commissions will be called after his term of office.Lbo should remember the old saying,'people who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Why hasn't he also called RC in regards to the operations of the Vic and Qld govts.

Who started it?

I think Abbot's RC into unions and a sitting Prime Minister going back 20 years, was the start. No Murdoch criticism then. And the findings were

njfking Yes, and that’s what we voted for, to sift grain by grain every corrupt weevil in the government past and present, and to also rid our country of you Murdoch scum for good

Australians will have a tough year with Albanese stuck in the past looking backwards. He is infatuated with Scott Morrison but I wish he did care about Australians and our cost of living pressures rather than saying they are beyond his control

Promises made, promises kept. Unlike the previous lot.

Sooo Andrew....who lost the election?

Sky News the ones you turn to for crap and anything but true news

Royal commission into Covid handling State and Federal!!!!

Narrator - 'The Abbott Liberal government held a Royal Commission into Julia Gillard's kitchen renovations that took place 30 years beforehand'

aclennell It was another election promise and albo keeps his word .unlike the liberals

Yep. That's the price of mismanagement and corruption

Shows how bad the previous government was.

You lot can’t handle the fact that Albo is soooooooooo popular! Go Albo! Go Labor!

SkyPropagandists:Murdochs=YR bosses =U can't=don't want 2 understand how vital GoodGov is 2 maintain people's TrustInGov. In Oz, nothing but root&branch IMPARTIAL RoyalCommissions have reach&powers 2 get 2 truth of BadGov=YRPickCoalition's 9FAILGovYEARS. Albo&OzWantGoodGovNow✅

More lefty mates being employed.

Womp Womp..... Australia's largest-ever parliamentary e-petition, which calls for a royal commission into media diversity and has more than 500,000 signatures, has been submitted to the House of Representatives.

RBA pays premium to keep cash in circulationSky News Business Editor Ross Greenwood says cash is causing a problem for the Reserve Bank as it’s “way more expensive to transport and to make secure”. “You saw that recently in the proposed merger of Lindsay Fox's armoured car business Armaguard, with the local operation of Spanish owned Prosegur,” Mr Greenwood said. “To help them out, a Reserve Bank review has concluded that it will pay 30 percent more to the armoured car businesses to transport old and worn banknotes out of circulation.” They should ban it. Then only allow government approved people to buy things. The use of cash is becoming outdated. Most transactions are electronic, who gets paid cash any more. 👍 Can see where this is heading cashlesssociety digitalID
