The North Sydney Council’s proposal to ban leather and fur at future events is “ridiculous”, former Labor minister Graham Richardson says.

The motion was put forward by Councillor Georgia Lamb, who claimed she was trying to protect the council from cancel culture.

“North Sydney Council has been at this sort of thing for a long time,” Mr Richardson told Sky News Australia.

Audit that greenie’s house, or flat, or tenement for all animal or oil products, and then light up that bonfire reserved for hypocrites.

'...I want to clarify that it was never my intention to impact on or take away rights to private property including common objects like chairs, shoes, bags, belts or footballs.'

Thin end of the wedge. Next they'll want to ban milk, eggs and honey.

What if they part of my culture?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I think the people need to half the size of Legislators, to have half as many stupid laws.

OH goody no possum pelts at the BS welcome to Country Farce yeah I say yes to that

The most ridiculous thing is that this council decides who’s going to Mayor, not the electorate and voters. Outgoing Mayor Jilly romped the numbers in but was disposed. This kind of mindless ideology to ban leather wouldn’t have happened on her watch.

And just as you were dusting off the ol' leather DTs with the fur tufts, eh, Gra Gra?

Guess they all wear thongs/sandals as leather shoes are out!!

Culture wars let the games begin

Yet another good reason to remove local councils or massively reduce them & make them stick to local roads, collecting trash & other basic municipal duties.. They arent even legal..

Ban leather? They should feel free to alleviate the world of themselves.

Bet you the the chairs they sit on are plush leather.

I guess when you slaughter your cattle from now, on you can only eat the steaks and throw everything else away. Being wasteful is 'for the common good', dontcha know?

I hope it’ll be checked and monitored. Pass 💀

New swimming spot to open in Sydney HarbourA new swimming spot is set to open in Sydney Harbour. The area in Marrinawi Cove is the first swimming hole to open west of the Sydney Harbour Bridge in more than 50 years. The New South Wales government has revamped the bay by installing safety nets, signage and a shower. Keen swimmers will find the renovated area at the north-east corner of Barangaroo Reserve. I’m not sure that’s factually correct- A couple of blokes that live around Greenwich (an affluent suburb owed by the LP) - stumbled across an overgrown pathway.. 2/hr parking limit-no wheelchair access-no public transport-no bathrooms- no permission from traditional owners ...
