Liverpool have made Solskjaer’s men look like witches hats in a training drill at what’s supposed to be a fortress

On the biggest stage, it was the Red Devils left red-faced from stage fright and one of their favourite sons, manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, looking completely out of his depth and bereft of answers.

In the 13th minute, Diogo Jota doubled the Reds’ lead after a horrific defensive showing between Luke Shaw and United captain Harry Maguire. Keita found Trent Alexander-Arnold who then pinpointed Jota at close range. “You can only press [defensively] if you’re an organised team unit, and Manchester United have no idea how to press,” he said. “Liverpool are just on a different planet.”

Ultimately, United’s brightest moment of the game came in the 71st minute as De Gea, somehow, saved an Alexander-Arnold thunderbolt from finding the back of the net. Damning, really. For Salah, the records just keep tumbling. With his three-goal haul, he passed Chelsea icon Didier Drogba to move to 107 goals and atop the list of the highest-scoring African players in EPL history.

At West Ham, both teams had plenty of chances in the first half, with the home side dominating but failing to convert their opportunities while Spurs’ best shots on goal were hit straight at goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski.Antonio was rewarded for his hard work when he scored from a corner in the 72nd minute.
