Cyclone Uesi will likely enter Australian waters from Thursday and is currently tracking south west of New Caledonia. As it heads further towards Australia, meteorologists say it will become a category one. The cyclone is not expected to make landfall but will cause rain, choppy surf conditions and beach erosion across the coast.
Towns - including Dalby, Oakey, Warwick and Roma surpassed their average February rainfall at the weekend. Dalby residents were warned to prepare for more potential flooding. Shark nets and bait hooks have been removed from the Gold Coast and Sunshine Coast beaches in preparation for dangerous swells expected from Thursday. Image: News Corp Australia
