The Queensland Government agrees to house an additional 500 people a week in hotel quarantine by early next month to get more Australians stranded overseas back home.

Queensland has agreed to take in another 500 returning Australian travellers per week after an agreement was reached at National Cabinet.Queensland will house 1,000 returning overseas travellers each week in hotel quarantine by early OctoberBrisbane, Cairns and Gladstone have been flagged as quarantine hubs

The Sunshine State has signed on to gradually increase its capacity of international travellers over the next fortnight to a total of 1,000 people per week by early October. Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said she had been touched by the stories of Queenslanders stranded overseas and struggling to get home.

"This is heartbreaking to hear the stories of people trapped overseas — Queenslanders trapped overseas," she said.Confirmed cases so far: 1,150

Poor work by the ACT not to put its hand up. As an international airport in the heart of NSW it could have taken the pressure of Sydney and I'm sure the Hotels and Taxi industry would have welcomed the extra business. But alas mindless politics plays it's hand.

Why are people still travelling? Have they been stranded since March when they were told to return?

Queensland is one wicked state.....what's this nonsense about preventing overseas arrivals? COMPLETE INSANITY.
