A Queensland Police Service employee has allegedly been paid to access information and release it to a domestic violence perpetrator, who then went on to stalk someone.
The 46-year-old woman, from the Road Policing and Regional Support Command, has been served with a notice to appear for unlawful stalking, being a domestic violence offence, and computer hacking. A statement released by the QPS on Thursday afternoon said the woman allegedly accessed the information on the service’s system between 2021 and 2023 and released the information to a domestic violence respondent.“It will be further alleged the domestic violence respondent paid the subject member for the information,” police said.The woman was scheduled to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on Friday morning.
“In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when a member of the Service faces serious allegations of misconduct,” police said.
