Annual public reporting of year 12 results in league tables is being scrapped in Queensland, as students' individual ATAR results bring the state in line with national reporting standards.

Key points:The University Admissions Centre has confirmed ATAR results are not made public nationallyEducation Minister Grace Grace said the decision coincided with the transition of Queensland schools to a national system of tertiary entrance scores – the individual Australian Tertiary Admission Rank, or ATAR.

"Unfortunately it makes it difficult – and this is the same all over the country – to compare schools when possibly around 15 per cent or more of those schools may not have the results that they require for a true comparison." "If parents want information on the school they are choosing for their child they are certainly able to do so at that school," Ms Grace said.

But opposition education spokesman Christian Rowan said the changed reporting was "not good enough" and "secretive". Dr Rowan suggested school-to-school ATAR comparisons were also important for the infrastructure and support-related decisions of government."Let me tell you, when schools need additional resources, they are absolutely given as required," she said.

Pfizer found to be 100 per cent effective in children aged 12 to 15 | Sky News AustraliaPresident of the Telethon Kids Institute Jonathan Carapetis says studies found the Pfizer vaccine was 100 per cent effective in children aged between 12 and 15 years of age. \n\nThis comes as the FDA gave emergency approval for the jab to be administered to Americans between the ages of 12 and 15.\n\n“The studies in kids don’t have to be quite as big as the studies in adults because we know so much about how this vaccine works,” Mr Carapetis said. \n\n“So, this pivotal study that they did in 12 to 15 year-olds was a bit over 2,000, 2,200 12 to 15 year-olds and they found that only the children who received the placebo vaccine got COVID.\n\n“There was zero in those who got the Pfizer vaccine, 100 per cent effective, no significant safety issues and really importantly a very good antibody response in the blood”. \n\nMr Carapetis told Sky News it would take “a bit longer” for Australia to authorise the vaccine for 12 to 15-year-olds because there was not the same level of urgency as in the United States. That´s why we had it instead of Astra Zeneca!... The brainless brigade are at it again. BS claims that kids can't catch covid. They can & do. They are just more unlikely to show severe symptoms. Kids are human petri dishes. Super spreaders of colds, flu & gastro. 100% effective at causing infertility among other conditions?
