The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have stepped out for their first official engagement since Harry and Meghan announced they wanted to step back as senior royals.

There were cheers for Prince William and Kate as several hundred well-wishers welcomed them at Centenary Square in Bradford.

William began the week by joining the Queen, Prince Charles and Prince Harry for crisis talks over his brother's wish to retreat from the spotlight. Meghan did not return to the UK for Monday's summit and is still in Vancouver on Canada's west coast, where she was pictured visiting a women's centre. Image: News Corp Australia

Chinese emissions to grow at 'five times Australia's' | Sky News AustraliaSky News Political Editor Andrew Clennell says Chinese emissions are estimated to grow 'one billion tonnes' or 'five times our electricity emissions' per year 'just based on their natural growth'.\n\nMr Clennell said Prime Minister Scott Morrison was being 'overly optimistic' when he suggested China produced the same emissions in nine days as Australia did in a year. \n\n'It'd be more like five or six days,' he said.\n\nMr Clennell said China was responsible for 30 per cent of the world's carbon dioxide emissions while Australia was responsible for just 1.2 per cent.\n\n'The Prime Minister's point has validity and is kind of scary, I guess, in saying there's not much he can do,' he said. \n\n Sadly it’s come to this. Why would I believe a single thing the Murdoch media ever said? Particularly when it comes to climate science. ... dumb commentary, that doesn’t take any of the past 20 years of climate negotiations into account. Thanks for wasting my time, Perhaps we should stop giving them so much coal then......
