Denim stalwart Jeans West has collapsed and is going into voluntary administration. The company operates 146 stores across the country, and employs 988 people. KPMG has been appointed to handle the crisis and will be canvassing all options to keep Jeans West in business.

Very sad. 😓

Shopping centres need to reduce rents. We walked from our shopping centre store after 14 years. The initial rent in 2000 was 35k a year. Asking rent in 2014 was 130k per year. Online shopping is killing retail and the S/C owners keep increasing rents.

I understand wage growth is low. But what is the point of having high wages if there are no jobs. Aust needs to support business, one way would be to lower taxes.
